Clinical Certificate in Microbiology

Laboratory Medicine is essential to the practice of healthcare and competent laboratorians are critical to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of health and disease. 

Microbiology Scientists perform testing to identify bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi to diagnose and treat infectious disease. Students who complete the Clinical Certificate in Microbiology will immediately be eligible to sit for the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC) Microbiology exam through Route 3 eligibility after the conclusion of the program.

The Clinical Certificate in Hematology is offered under the umbrella of the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited M.S. in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program, meeting rigorous standards for quality, education, and innovation.  NAACLS can be contacted at: National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences, 5600 N.
