About Us
Based out of the north side of Chicago, the Rambler Battalion is hosted at Loyola University. The satellite schools include DePaul University, Northeastern Illinois University, North Park University, and Northwestern University. Located on the bustling north side of Chicago, the Rambler Battalion cadets have access to nearly unlimited resources for educational and professional development. The diversity of the neighborhood gives a valuable cultural perspective hard to find elsewhere. Our Battalion consists of cadets from all over the country and from many different backgrounds. The cadre assigned to our Battalion are highly experienced, well trained soldiers of the Army with over 60 years of combined time in service. Additionally, the Battalion has several civilian employees who work in support of the program's success. Military History Course- Any Semester
All ROTC cadets across the country are required to take a college level history course that focuses on U.S. military history and the history of the profession of arms. Specific courses that meet the requirements established by U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command are determined by the Professor of Military Science. For a list of courses that fulfill the military history requirement at your university, please contact your Military Science Instructor.
In addition to these approved courses, the Military Science Department offers a three credit hour, independent study course that is taken online through the ROTC Blackboard learning system. This course can be found in Loyola's course catalog under:
