ESL Endorsement Certificate
Classrooms continue to be more diverse than ever before, with a range of languages and cultures enriching the possibilities for learning and teaching. This growing linguistic diversity has prompted much-needed attention to the large and growing sub-group of students labeled as English learners or emergent bilinguals. Spanning urban, suburban, and rural areas across the United States and beyond, educational stakeholders recognize the need for all teachers to integrate and support students’ languages and cultural backgrounds into curriculum and instruction.
The English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement program prepares teachers to teach students labeled as emergent multilinguals in grades preK-12. The standalone endorsement program consists of 18 credits (6 courses) spread across 3 semesters. Additionally, our online cohort program can offer wide flexibility for completion of the coursework from anywhere in the world. Our top-notch professors in the field of ESL/Bilingual Education took great care to design an asynchronous curriculum that is purposeful and authentic. The project-based focus in the program allows for targeted online learning and is responsive to your individual goals and needs as teachers in diverse contexts worldwide.
