The Post-Graduate APRN Certificate program is designed for graduate prepared registered nurses who wish to obtain preparation in an additional advanced practice nursing role and/or population, and eligibility for completing the certification examination in that role and/or population. A gap analysis that considers prior graduate level coursework and the recency of that coursework serves as the foundation for an individualized program of study leading to the certificate.
Program Goal
The goal of the post-graduate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certificate programs is to prepare APRNs in a selected role and population, with the option of a specialty focus, by building on previous graduate level nursing education.
The coursework in the Post-Graduate APRN Certificate Program is individualized, based on prior graduate level coursework in nursing, and the recency of that coursework. At a minimum, students in the Post-Graduate APRN Certificate Program will complete patient care management coursework and clinical practicum experiences relevant to the role and population focus being pursued through the program.
