The Family Nurse Practitioner with Emergency Specialty track of the DNP program is designed to prepare graduates to work in emergent settings. Graduates are prepared to prioritize and triage patients, conduct advanced health assessments and health histories, diagnose and manage episodic illnesses, injuries, and acute exacerbation of chronic diseases in emergency settings, undertake emergency care procedures, and provide leadership in team partnerships to advanced emergency care, emergency preparedness, and response efforts.

Clinical Experiences
Faculty design and secure all clinical rotations for students. Loyola maintains academic-practice partnerships throughout the Chicago metropolitan area with a focus on serving communities with high needs. Clinical experiences will be completed in primary care and emergency department settings.

PROGRAM GOAL
The goal of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program is to prepare nurses to assume advanced roles in direct care and systems leadership domains at the highest level of nursing to improve health care outcomes through practice-based scholarship.
