The WSGS Minor serves to enhance and deepen student learning within the discipline of their major program. Through the WSGS lens of intersectionality, students acquire analytical skills that enable them to see the world in new ways and offer innovative solutions to social and theoretical problems. Minors may also engage in WSGS service-learning or internship opportunities that help them link theory and practice and advocate for social justice.
In the spirit of interdisciplinarity, the WSGS Minor includes a robust list of elective options in Anthropology, Criminal Justice, English, History, Psychology, Sociology, and Theology (among other programs) that enhance the foundational curriculum. In this way, students integrate their learning with one or more disciplines to prepare for graduate school or the professions.
