A maximum of three courses may count toward the Global Studies Minor and another major or minor. No more than four courses total may count for the Global Studies Minor and all other declared majors/minors.
Numerous courses based in departments and schools across the university are tagged with the Global Studies Program and may count as electives in the Global Studies Minor. These are listed below. However, many of these courses are not offered very often. If you want to know when a particular tagged course is going to be offered next, you must check with the course's home department. The Global Studies Program does not control the scheduling of tagged elective courses.
Global Studies focuses on the world outside of the United States since around 1850 CE. Some LUC courses relevant to the geographic and thematic areas of focus named below may not appear on our lists, especially if they are "topics" courses. Please check with the director of the Global Studies Program if you have any questions about a course not listed below that you would like to count toward your Global Studies major.

Suggested Sequence of Courses
The below sequence of courses is meant to be used as a suggested path for completing coursework. An individual student’s completion of requirements depends on course offerings in a given term as well as the start term for a major or graduate study. Students should consult their advisor for assistance with course selection.
Fulfillment of the required language proficiency is not included below as those courses do not count toward the credit hours of the minor. Courses must be taken or waived by placement examination before completion of the minor.
