This course analyzes the responsibilities of general management in formulating, communicating, and implementing a strategic plan. Whereas corporate strategy (MGMT 574) defines the vertical and horizontal scope of a firm, business strategy (MGMT 573) is concerned with how the firm generates and sustains competitive advantage within a particular industry or product market. Students will develop executive and general management skills through an understanding of how the various functions of an organization operate as a whole.
